Difficult Births: Inductions

Inductions are occurring frequently in many practices and hospitals. We will look at the reasons behind inductions and the factors that determine which medications will be used, as well as choices parents have about induction medication. Many parents are unprepared for an induction that is often a long process over several days. The doula's role is vital here both in preparing and supporting a client. We will look at the preparation and support needed, including managing an induction with and without pain medication. Of critical concern throughout our discussion will be how to keep the mother at the center of her birth, making decisions with her partner and health care provider and playing an active role throughout the induction.

This workshop is free for Active CVD Doulas. We are asking for a $30 donation from all other birth workers.
